About this Recipe

An oldie but a goodie!  This is a quick go to meal, great for kids and adults alike!  You can make substitutions on any of the ingredients to really gear this meal to your liking.  Use you favorite meat, from beef to turkey to even ground venison!  Add veggies or take some away.  Add some hot peppers to kick it up in flavor town, or add some mushrooms and spinach to get some extra veggies!  The possibilities are endless.  Serve on your favorite roll and garnish with some tasty sides, like coleslaw, roasted corm, spicy pickles, or a nice 7 layer salad!  Enjoy!

  • 2 Pounds   ground meat (beef, turkey, chicken or pork)
  • 1-2 cloves garlic
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for cooking 
  • salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste (or use a your own favorite seasoning packet)
  • 1 Jar Andy’s Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Sacue
  • 1   8pk rolls

Step 1

Prep veggies. Dice onion and mince garlic

Step 2

Heat a large cast iron skillet on high for 1 min.  Add olive oil. Add onion and saute for 1-2 mins.  Add garlic and ground meat. Add seasonings. Brown your ground meat for 8-10 mins.  Do this until it is cooked through.  

Step 3

Drain the grease if necessary or to your liking.  

Step 4

Add a jar of Andy’s Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Sauce to the meat mixture. Add a 1/2 cup water to jar and swirl around.  Make sure to get all that delicious sauce out of the jar and add it to your mixture.

Step 5

Stir to combine the sauce and the meat well.  Turn heat down to low and let simmer 5 – 10 mins, stirring occasionaly.  Shut off and let stand 5 mins.  Get your rolls and sides ready.  Scoop meat mix onto your favorite bun and enjoy the slopiness!  You may need to grab a spoon!
